Bravo Dance Competition - Not Just Another Competition!
Fair, professional, and fun...

Bravo Dance Competition encourages all age groups to partake, enjoy, and experience the thrill of competing, and feel the joy of sense of accomplishments.

Five categories:
Professional-amateur (pro-am); Amateur-amateur (am-am); Show Competition; Line Dance, and Jack & Jill.
Three levels:
Novice, Intermediate and Advance.
Age groups:
Under 19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and above 70.
Intra-family couple:
Encourage father/daughter, mother/son, and mother/daughter to compete as a couple.
Dances:
Cha cha, Rumba, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Merengue, Bachata, Salsa, Hustle, WC Swing, EC Swing, NC 2 Step, Chinese Tango, Chinese Jitterbug.

Professional-amateur (Pro-am) Competition:
This is a competition in which students (am) compete with their instructors (pro) as a couple.
This is a great way to get new students into the joy and thrill of competing.
Amateur-amateur (Am-am) Competition:
This is a competition in which two amateurs compete as a couple. Dancers who are professional is not qualified for this category.
Show Competition:
Show competition is a competition in which contestants dance to their music of choice with choreographies. Preferably there is a story to the dance, not just an amalgamation of dance moves.
Thus musicality is extremely important.
Show competition is subdivided into the following three groups:
Classic:
This form of show competition involves choreograhpies with not much lifts, and drops.
Showcase:
This form of show competition involves costumes and some choreograhpies.
Theater:
This form of show competition involves costumes, choreographies, and lifts and drops.
Jack & Jill:
This is a competition in which leaders (Jack) and followers (Jill) are randomly paired up. These randomly paired up couples compete against each other.
True lead and follow is very important in this competition.

Judging Criteria
20% - Timing
    (Basic timing of each dance)
20% - Musicality
    (Play with the music)
10% - General Dance Technique
    (Balance, weight change...)
10% - Pro Dance Technique
    (Skills for levels)
10% - Difficulty
    (Degree of difficulty for levels)
10% - Partner Connectivity
    (Lead, follow,...)
10% - Choreograhy
    (creativity and expressiveness)
10% - Overall Presentation
    (Costumes, dance etiquette)

Competition Schedules
Bravo Dance Studio opens at 11:00am
Front desk opens at 11:30am

All contestants are required to arrive
at least half an hour (30 min) before the Competition


Afternoon (1:00pm-5:00pm):
    Pro-ams
    Am-ams
    Social dancing

6:00pm:
    Studio closes for clean-ups
6:30pm
    Studio reopens for seatings

Evening (7:00pm-12:30am):
    Social dancing (7:00pm-8:00pm)
    Competitions (8:00pm-9:00pm)
        Show competitions, Jack & Jill, Honor dances.
    Social dancing (9:15pm-12:30am)
